There is increasing expectation for doctors to undertake formal teacher training for their role in the NHS. 

Join our online 'Train the Clinical Teacher' course, and learn the importance of teaching theory, practical assessment and effective feedback as a clinical teacher. The course can be used for personal development, to boost your CV and further expand your NHS job application.

 

The course consists of two webinars;

The course is taught by Dr Adam Jakes, who has over ten years of medical teaching experience. He has also completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy - he will share more about his experience and recommendations during the webinars.


The webinars are recorded to watch in your own time after the course, for candidates unable to attend the live session. A dedicated WhatsApp is also provided for ongoing questions and support.

Micro-teach experience

An opportunity to teach a virtual class and gain vital feedback. This service is great for boosting your teaching experience and developing more hands-on teaching for their job application/interview.

Candidates will be invited to a zoom meeting with 6 other participants. Each candidate will conduct a 10-15 minute virtual teaching session to the group. There will then be an opportunity for questions from each group member and receive feedback on your teaching. This is all done in a friendly, relaxed environment, with an expert facilitator trained in assessment and feedback.
